RE: KENYAN GOVERNMENT REQUEST FOR A DEFERRAL OF THE ICC CASES
We, the undersigned Kenyan civil society organizations, write with regard to the Kenyan government’s request for a deferral of the ICC cases.
The organizations listed below have interacted regularly with victims and affected communities and have been engaged with the accountability process in Kenya since the onset of the 2007-2008 post-election violence (PEV).

Top IEBC men to be charged over Sh1.3bn kits tender - Daily Nation, October 19, 2013

The anti-corruption commission has recommended the prosecution of four top electoral commission officials over the Sh1.3 billion electronic voter identification kits that failed during the March 4 elections.

The four are Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) chief executive James Oswago, the deputy commission secretary in charge of support services, Mr Wilson Shollei, the director of finance, Mr Edward Karisa, and the procurement manager, Mr Willy Kamanga.

Civil society seeks details of President Uhuru Kenyatta’s suit by ICC lawyers

KENYA: Efforts by civil society to obtain details of a confidential suit filed by President Uhuru Kenyatta’s ICC lawyers in the High Court have been futile, the High Court was told Monday.

An application by lawyer Harun Ndubi, in which he seeks to be enjoined as an interested party in the suit, says that searches by the Kenyans for Peace, Truth and Justice at the High Court registry for copies of the nature of the proceedings have been unsuccessful.
